RESEARCH

The American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine supports research related to any aspect of local anesthetics and regional anesthesia and their application to surgery, obstetrics and pain control. Research efforts are sponsored through three programs. The Carl
Koller Memorial Research Grant and Resident Research Award are completely ASRA-funded. ASRA also co-sponsors with the Foundation for Anesthesia Education Research (FAER) relevant Research Starter Grants.

The ASRA Carl Koller Memorial Research Fund has been increased to a total of $75,000.00 biennially to support Research related to any aspect of local anesthetics and regional anesthesia and their application to surgery, obstetrics and pain control. The purpose of the grant is to encourage anesthesiologists and other researchers who are interested in this field. Application deadline is September 1, 2008, with the award starting January 1, 2009.
