Guidelines for Submissions for the ASRA Interventional Pain Educational Video AND Poster Abstracts
Objective: To create comprehensive educational materials related to INTERVENTIONAL PAIN MEDICINE (i.e., procedures) to be used as a supplement to education for pain physicians.
Submission Criteria:
- Only ASRA members may submit entries.
- Resident/Fellow ASRA members who wish to submit must work with a faculty member who is also a member of ASRA
- All submissions must be received by ASRA prior to the published deadline
- Submissions must follow the established template detailed below
- Content should be reviewed for quality such as accuracy, reliability, grammar, spelling, and composition before submitting
- Submitted materials will be considered FINAL productions
- All photos, videos, diagrams, patient participation, etc. must have appropriately documented patient consent
- The author(s) must document appropriately cite previously published work
- All accepted submissions will become property of ASRA and may be published on an educational website supported by ASRA
Video Requirements:
- Duration may not exceed 10 minutes
- Content must adequately demonstrate the techniques for performing the specific intervention. Content should include—but is not limited to—the preparation for the procedure, the steps involved with performing the procedure, and any imaging or significant details related to the completion of the procedure.
- The content of the video should ONLY include instruction and demonstration of how to perform the given intervention.
- All patient identifying characteristics (facial, in particular) must be appropriately masked
Poster Requirements (the poster is a supplement to the video that will include the following detail):
- Brief history of procedure
- Indications for the procedure
- Contraindications
- Technique including drugs, equipment, imaging, and discharge instructions, etc.
- Complications
- References
Criteria for Competition:
- Accepted videos will be posted for viewing and voting for a period of 3 weeks
- The authors of the top 5 videos will be notified prior to the beginning of the meeting
- All posters and videos will be on display during designated times during the meeting
- Author(s) must be presented at the time of viewing during their assigned time
- The top 5 videos will be formally presented by the authors during a final judging session.
