American Society of Regional Anesthesia & Pain Medicine

Welcome to San Diego, and the 2nd Annual ASRA Fall Pain meeting! The American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine initiated this meeting last year, recognizing the importance of Pain Medicine to the society, and the need for a more Pain focused educational forum. In attempting to build from the initial success, several popular ideas from last year have been replicated. Translational sessions featuring noted basic scientists and clinical experts show the application of bench research to our clinical practices. Demand for cadaver based workshops was extremely high, and we have several new sessions including fluoroscopic techniques. A popular review course for practicing pain physicians and current clinical fellows returns, with an informal, participatory format. Parallel sessions highlighting specific and often controversial topics in Pain Medicine, and Master's Classes with clinical experts offer opportunities to improve awareness of emerging trends and practice improvements. Poster sessions to introduce new research and allow discussion stimulate creativity within the society. Overall, we feel that this is sure to be one of the most outstanding Pain meetings of the year. We have a broad multispecialty faculty, recognizing the importance of our colleagues from other disciplines. We welcome your comments and criticisms, as we strive to continue to make this your yearly event. Enjoy the meeting!
