General Information

Target Audience

This meeting is designed for pain practitioners utilizing invasive and non-invasive techniques for pain management. Moreover, individuals involved in pain control, and scientists working in the basic and clinical science areas will greatly benefit from the interaction during the course
of the sessions.

Objectives

After participation in this educational meeting, participants should have an understanding of:

• Common clinical problems in acute, chronic and cancer-related pain and current recommendations for the evaluation and management of these pain conditions.

• Current laboratory investigations relevant to understanding the basic mechanisms responsible for pain and recent developments that offer promise for the treatment of pain.

• Clinical evidence regarding new and evolving treatments for the treatment of pain

The methods of presentation will include translational sessions, didactic lectures, poster and poster discussions, workshops, problem based learning discussions and master classes. The meeting will allow ample time to view new technology, inspect current literature, and review new and proven pharmacology.

Accreditation & Designation

The American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine designates this continuing medical education activity for a maximum of 28 credit hours in Category 1 credit towards the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

The mission of the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine is to associate physicians and scientists who are engaged in regional anesthesia for surgery, obstetrics and pain medicine; to encourage education and research in these areas for the benefits of physicians and the public; and to publish the highest quality scientific information on these subjects.

Refresher Courses/Workshops/Master Classes/Problem Based Learning and the 2004 Annual Fall Meeting on Pain

For 2004, one registration fee covers the Refresher Courses, Annual Fall Meeting on Pain, and Poster Sessions. An additional fee will be charged for each Workshop, PBLD, and Master Class.

You must pre-register for the Workshops, PBLDs, and Master Classes on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. When making selections, it is recommended that you make several choices for each time period. Space will be assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please give us ALL your choices for EACH Workshop, PBLD and Master Class. If all Workshops, PBLDs and Master Classes in a given session are filled, you will receive a refund of your Workshop, PBLD, or Master Class fee.

The Annual Fall Meeting on Pain Registration Fee Includes:

• Refresher Courses / Parallel Sessions / Poster Discussions

• One reception, four continental breakfasts, and coffee breaks

• Meeting syllabus

Not Included in the Annual Fall Pain Meeting Registration Fee:

• Workshops / PBLDs / Master Classes / Lunches (unless attending PBLD Luncheon)
