The American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine (ASRA) supports research related to both perioperative and persistent pain treatment. In particular, ASRA seeks to support any aspect of local anesthetics and regional anesthesia and their application to surgery, obstetrics and pain control research in acute, chronic and cancer pain. High quality outcome based research is currently a priority focus. |
The ASRA Carl Koller Memorial Research Fund has been increased to a total of $75,000.00 biennially to support clinical and laboratory studies related to regional anesthesia and analgesia and its application to surgery. Priority will be given to innovative projects that address patient safety and outcome in regional anesthesia and analgesia. The purpose of the grant is to provide "seed money" to fund anesthesiologists and other researchers who are interested in this field.
The ASRA Chronic Pain Medicine Research Grant aims to promote and facilitate high quality evidence based research in pain medicine. Results of this research will guide clinical practice for pain physicians and improve patient health care. This research is needed to evaluate efficacy of pain interventions and treatments.
