ASRA PoCUS Course Receives Honors for Excellence in Education

Aug 3, 2018

This July, the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine (ASRA) was awarded a Profile of Excellence Award by the American Association of Medical Society Executives (AAMSE) for its innovative course Introduction to Perioperative Point-of-Care Ultrasound (PoCUS). The awards program recognizes medical societies for their efforts to advance the field of organized medicine and improve the lives of physicians and the patients they serve.

A panel of AAMSE members selected recipients in four areas of medical society management: advocacy, communications, education and membership. The PoCUS course achieved recognition in the Education Category, with judges noting that the freestanding course achieved maximum effectiveness for attendees through a multi-faceted approach, combining e-learning, lectures, and hands-on practice. High-quality faculty and partnerships further enabled ASRA to maximize the learning experience, benefitting not only attendee physicians but, ultimately, their patients.
