Hospital Visits

Spend a day at a major medical center in New York City.  Network with prominent specialists in anesthesiology, observe them in action, and discuss cases with them.  Clinical settings will include operating rooms and recovery rooms and may also include emergency rooms and intensive care units.  Registration for this program is restricted due to space limitations and internal in-hospital administrative protocols. Gaston Labat Award Lecture: New Perspectives in Regional Anesthesia

We are proud to present Alain Borgeat, MD, who has been selected to deliver the 2018 Gaston P. Labat Lecture, "New Perspectives in Regional Anesthesia." Dr. Borgeat is a senior clinical and research consultant at Balgrist University Hospital in Zurich, Switzerland, and a professor at the University of Zurich. The lecture is presented annually by an anesthesiologist who has fostered the art and science of regional anesthesia in the tradition of Gaston Labat.

Join the 2018 World Congress on Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine Scientific/Education Planning Committee Chair Vincent W.S. Chan, MD, FRCPC, as he officially opens this quadrennial meeting along with leaders from all five regional anesthesia and pain medicine societies. Dr. Chan will present Gregory A. Liguori, MD, with the 2018 Distinguished Service Award. Dr. Liguori is  anesthesiologist-in-chief at Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) and clinical professor in anesthesiology at Weill Cornell. Special recognition will also be given to Mary Hargett, director of education and clinical initiatives for the Department of Anesthesiology at HSS.

Everyone needs a professional headshot at some point in their career and this booth will provide attendees an efficient and convenient medium to have theirs taken and emailed directly to them. This is sure to be one of the hottest locations in the exhibit hall!

ASRA's got talent! Join in this informal evening of music and collegiality with ASRA member bands Four 5 (Dan Richman),  WC Punks (Eric Schwenk), Punch for Zero (Amitabh Gulati) and Big Apple Blues (Admir Hadzic). Free ASRA-hosted entry for World Congress attendees and guests—just show your badge at the door (guests must be accompanied by an ASRA attendee). Food and beverage is at your own expense.

World Congress Closing Celebration
