The Member Spotlight for June is Dr. Debesh Bhoi, MBBS, MD Anaesthesiology, MNAMS, an additional professor in the department of Anaesthesiology, Pain Medicine & Critical Care at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, India.

After earning his MBBS from VSS Medical College in Burla, Sambalpur, Odisha, and his MD from Gujarat Cancer Research Institute under BJ Medical College in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Dr. Bhoi served as senior resident at AIIMS New Delhi and then completed a fellowship in regional anesthesia and acute pain medicine at Hyderabad, India under Dr. T.V.S Gopal, one of the founding members of the Academy of Regional Anaesthesia in India. He then became faculty at the premier institute of India, AIIMS New Delhi.

Dr. Bhoi has been involved regularly in clinical teaching, research, and publications. He has served as the thesis guide for many students and has been an invited faculty for more than 30 ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia workshops. He has also organized many cadaveric chronic pain workshops and CME programs.

Dr. Bhoi is a life member of the Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists and the Indian Society of Study of Pain. He is also a member of the European Society of Regional Anaesthesia and Pain Therapy, as well as ASRA Pain Medicine. He regularly attends conferences and meetings in the field of anesthesia and pain medicine. He has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed papers and four book chapters.
