Kimberlee BaylessOur February Member Spotlight shines on Kim Bayless, DNP, MSN, FNP-BC, APRN, an advanced practice nurse in the George E. Wahlen department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salt Lake City, UT.

Dr. Bayless is an active member of ASRA Pain Medicine and the vice chair of the Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, and Clinical Nurse Special Interest Group. She practices both acute and chronic pain at the VA Medical Center. She studied at the University of Utah where she earned her DNP, MSN, and BSN.

Dr. Bayless is a member of the Utah Nurse Practitioner Association’s Board of Directors and co-chairs the Utah Nurse Practitioner Pharmacology Conference. She has written a number of articles and presented at national meetings, focusing particularly on the issue of opioid use among Veterans and transitional pain. She is a frequent faculty member for ASRA Pain Medicine’s fall meetings.

Nominator Lynn Kohan, MD, wrote of Dr. Bayless, “She has been a leader in growing ASRA Pain Medicine’s Advanced Practice Provider program. Additionally, she has accomplished tremendous work in the realm of creating and growing transitional pain medicine within her program as well as promoting education in the realm at ASRA Pain Medicine. “

The professional and personal contributions of ASRA Pain Medicine members go beyond many of our expectations. Help us shine a light on the diverse and impactful work of our members.

Nominations will be accepted and highlighted throughout the year. Self-nominations are permitted. Specific attention will be given to those members who haven't been highlighted previously in ASRA Pain Medicine activities.
