Mission
The mission of the Private Practice SIG is to provide a forum for dialogue, education, leadership, and collaboration among regional anesthesiologists and pain physicians in private practice and strives to present a unified voice within ASRA.
The goals and objectives of the Private Practice SIG are to:
- Bring together private practice regional anesthesiologists and pain physicians from across the country
- Create a forum for discussion of issues unique to private practice: billing and reimbursement, production pressures, continuing education, group dynamics, practice management, interprovider relations
- Brainstorm logistical solutions to establishing and maintaining regional anesthesia services in both the hospital and ambulatory surgery center settings
- Present a unified voice and organized two-way communication within ASRA
- Collaborate with our ASRA academic colleagues on research projects
- Explore new connections and educational endeavors such as fellow rotations, peer visits
- Encourage the increased presence of private practice physicians in leadership and faculty roles within ASRA
- Facilitate mentorship roles within the SIG
- To encourage membership and participation in ASRA, given membership dues and meetings are often not reimbursed for private practice physicians
