Description

Accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) for 4 fellow learners, our 12-month program provides an experience in a multidisciplinary pain management center with emphasis on interventional pain management approaches. The program offers educational experiences in interventional pain, chronic pain (clinic and inpatient), anesthesiology (perioperative and acute pain), physical medicine and rehabilitation, neurology, psychiatry/psychology, as well as hospice and palliative medicine. The program is comprised of eight physician faculty members with specialties in anesthesiology, pain medicine, family medicine, psychiatry, physical medicine and rehabilitation, and neurology, as well as one clinical psychologist. The pain medicine fellowship at the University of Kentucky is provided through the department of anesthesiology. Physicians begin fellowship training after successful completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in anesthesiology, neurology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, or psychiatry.
