Fellowship directory

Physicians applying for a fellowship program in regional anesthesiology/acute pain medicine must be currently enrolled in, or have completed, an accredited anesthesiology residency program. Each individual program may have additional requirements such as medical licensing. The information published here has been supplied by the individual institutions. University of Utah*

The University of Utah, Department of Anesthesiology is currently applying for ACGME fellowship accreditation for Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Medicine. We hope to transition to an accredited status for the 2023-2024 fellowship year.

Our fellows are valued colleagues for a service that performs nearly 4500 peripheral nerve blocks and perineural catheters, and 300 thoracic epidurals each year. Fellow also rotate on our acute pain medicine, chronic pain, and cancer pain services. We believe it is important for our fellows to maintain fluency in the operating room, so part of their clinical time is spent in the operating room performing anesthesia. Exposure to pediatric regional anesthesia, trauma regional anesthesia, addiction medicine, research and quality improvement opportunities are also part of the fellowship experience.
