Win a travel scholarship to participate in the ASRA Pain Medicine/APPD Advanced Interventional Pain Management Course and Workshop for Fellows and learn from the world’s leading experts!

ASRA Pain Medicine is pleased to provide 30-50 highly qualified and enthusiastic rising pain fellows with a travel scholarship to participate in this exclusive workshop taking place on Thursday, November 9, 2023, directly prior to the 22nd Annual Pain Medicine Meeting at the New Orleans Marriott. Click here for the current course and workshop program.

Scholarships Include

  • Reimbursement after the workshop of:
    • Max. $600 toward 2 nights hotel at the New Orleans Marriott (Wednesday/Thursday; room/tax only)
  • Registration to the ASRA Pain Medicine/APPD Advanced Interventional Pain Management Course and Workshop for Fellows

Scholarships Do Not Include

  • All other expenses (flight, taxi, parking, meals, etc.)
  • Registration to the 22nd Annual Pain Medicine Meeting

Application Submission Requirements

  • Submitted by May 31, 2023 (no exceptions)
  •  ASRA Pain Medicine membership
  • Completed application with attachments:
    • Curriculum vitae (CV)
    • 2 letters of recommendation from your fellowship program director and/or senior faculty members
  • Applicants will be notified of a decision by June 15, 2023.
  • Scholarship recipients must be registered for the 22nd Annual Pain Medicine Meeting, at their own cost, by September 7, 2023, or the scholarship may be revoked.
  • Recipient contact information, including mailing address and email, will be provided to the workshop industry sponsors.

Scoring/Judging Criteria

  • Blinded review by multiple reviewers from across the country.
  • Every attempt will be made to assign applications to reviewers unfamiliar with the applicant. However, if an applicant (although blinded) is known to the reviewer, we have a built-in process to swap that applicant to a different reviewer.
  • Reviewers will use a rubric to ensure consistent reviews.
    • Academic achievement will be measured on a 5-point scale based on publications, posters, and lectures.
    • Leadership achievement will be measured on a 5-point scale based on leadership roles within residency, societies, advocacy, and institutional projects.
    • Interest and Letters of Recommendations will be evaluated on a 5-point scale.
