Pain Fellows Scholarship Application

Win a travel scholarship to participate in the ASRA Pain Medicine/APPD Advanced Interventional Pain Management Course and Workshop for Fellows and learn from the world’s leading experts!

ASRA Pain Medicine is pleased to provide up to 40 highly qualified and enthusiastic rising pain fellows with a travel scholarship to participate in this exclusive workshop taking place on Wednesday, November 20th, at Viticus Center, directly prior to the 23rd Annual Pain Medicine Meeting at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada. Click here for the current course and workshop program.

Scholarships Include

  • Reimbursement after the workshop of:
    • Max. $600 toward 2 nights hotel at Caesars Palace (Tuesday/Wednesday; room/tax only)
  • Registration to the ASRA Pain Medicine/APPD Advanced Interventional Pain Management Course and Workshop for Fellows

Scholarships Do Not Include

Application Submission Requirements

  • Submitted by May 23, 2024 (no exceptions)
  • ASRA Pain Medicine membership
  • Completed application with attachments:
    • Curriculum vitae (CV)
    • Letter of endorsement or attestation from fellowship program director acknowledging applicant is applying and endorsing participation (may be a one or two sentence statement)
    • At least one letter of recommendation from an associate program director and/or senior faculty member
  • Applicants will be notified of a decision by June 26, 2024.
  • Scholarship recipients must be registered for the 23rd Annual Pain Medicine Meeting, at their own cost, by September 9, 2024, or the scholarship may be revoked.
  • Recipient contact information, including mailing address and email, will be provided to the workshop industry sponsors.

Scoring/Judging Criteria

  • Review by multiple reviewers from across the country.
  • Reviewers will use a rubric to ensure consistent reviews.
    • Academic achievement will be measured on a 5-point scale based on involvement in scholarly activity.
    • Leadership achievement will be measured on a 5-point scale based on leadership roles within residency, societies, advocacy, and institutional projects.
    • Interest and Letters of Recommendation will be evaluated on a 5-point scale.
