Who should participate in the Pain Medicine Innovation and Leadership Certificate program? 
The Pain Medicine Innovation and Leadership Certificate is designed for recently graduated pain medicine fellows (0-5 years post-training) interested in further developing their skills to help support transitioning to clinical practice.

How much does participation in the Pain Medicine Innovation and Leadership Certificate program cost?
The initial pilot program is $199 for ASRA Pain Medicine members and $425 for non-members. 

How long is this program?
This is a 12-month certificate program, beginning in September and ending in August.

When does the program begin? Applications will be accepted through August, and the program will launch in September. Exact dates will be provided after application submission and payment.

Is there a limit on the number of participants in the Pain Medicine Innovation and Leadership Certificate program?
Yes, space is limited for the initial pilot program. Early registration is encouraged to be sure you are included. 

Can I obtain CME credits with this program?
Yes! Participants can obtain up to 20 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ through participating in this program*

  • 12 CME credit hours will be comprised of asynchronous online learning activities. 
  •  An additional 4 CME credit hours will be focused on practice management content (may be live or asynchronous).
  • 4 CME credit hours will consist of in-person procedural workshops (which may be earned through attendance at the ASRA Pain Medicine Meeting or another preapproved activity; additional fees may apply).

* CME for live, in-person activities will be awarded in conjunction with that event and not included in the total CME awarded at the end of this program. 

Does the cost include registration for the in-person procedural workshops?
No, workshop registration is separate and not included in the cost for this program. Additional fees will apply for the procedural workshops based on the prices set by the provider. 

What if I do not complete all the requirements in the 12-month timeframe? 

The Certificate of Completion will only be awarded to those who complete all requirements. CME will be awarded based on any asynchronous online learning activities complete (up to 12 credits) and any asynchronous practice management content complete (up to 4 credits). Extensions may be granted on a case-by-case basis upon request but must be made before the course completion date.

What if I complete more than the required asynchronous online learning. Will I receive additional CME credit?
No, the CME awarded is based on the maximums listed as part of the certificate program.

Is there an examination with this Pain Medicine Innovation and Leadership Certificate program?
While there is not an examination, there is a pre- and post-test along with a program evaluation at the end of the program that must be complete by all participants.
