Change can be hard. And the last few months have been filled with change and uncertainty. However, no matter what you are going through in your work and personal lives, we want you to continue to rely on the steadfast dedication of ASRA in supporting you and your practice.

The most recent change ASRA is experiencing is the shifting of the in-person 19th Annual Pain Medicine Meeting. Originally planned for the vibrant and exciting city of Las Vegas, NV, we have now made the decision to convert the meeting to a fully virtual event in the interest and for the safety of our members and attendees. But we still promise a vibrant and exciting event as we take advantage of all the opportunity that online programming can offer, including no limit to who can attend across the globe!

What hasn’t changed? Our commitment to providing the highest-quality content experts, up-to-the-minute sessions covering the topics you need now, and comprehensive education that moves our field forward as we work to relieve our patients’ pain.

With the cancellation of the 45th Annual Regional Anesthesiology and Acute Pain Medicine Meeting, planned for this past spring in San Francisco, we have shifted our approach to take advantage of the exciting opportunity to create a combined acute and chronic pain medicine meeting for fall, with Magdalena Anitescu, MD, PhD, the original ASRA Fall 2020 chair, and Jaime Baratta, MD, the ASRA Spring 2020 chair, now serving as co-chairs. This exciting new virtual meeting will have something for everyone including tracks for both chronic and acute pain medicine as well as a general track covering issues and topics that affect us all.

So, to summarize, here’s what has changed:

The ASRA Fall 2020 meeting will now be completely virtual and will offer content for both acute pain/regional anesthesia and chronic pain medicine providers.

Here’s what has not changed:

The ASRA Fall 2020 meeting still brings you the top content experts from across the world covering the educational topics you need now, as well as interactive sessions, networking opportunities, and an exhibit hall experience that capture the heart of ASRA’s successful meetings.

Here are just some of the exciting session topics we have planned for you:

  • Acute pain and regional anesthesia in the perioperative arena
  • Big data
  • Challenges in sonoanatomy
  • Emerging technology and novel therapeutics
  • Opioid-free anesthesia
  • Starting and maintaining an acute pain service, ERAS service, floor infusions, and ambulatory catheters
  • Chronic pain syndrome diagnoses and treatment
  • Current and future directions in combating the opioid epidemic, pain genes and genetic mutations in chronic pain, neuromodulation, and tackling cancer pain
  • Complementary and alternative, regenerative, and psychological techniques
  • Practice management

Interested in multiple sessions at the same time?

Don’t worry – on-demand recordings of sessions will be offered for one-year post event.

Afraid you’ll miss out on the collegiality and networking – a key part of any ASRA meeting?
