Dr. Sam Eldabe Named Associate Editor-in-Chief for Chronic Pain, Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine Journal

Regional Anesthesia & Pain Medicine (RAPM), the official journal of ASRA Pain Medicine, has named Sam Eldabe, MBChB, FRCA, FFPMRCA, EDPM, as the associate editor-in-chief for chronic pain. Dr. Eldabe is a consultant anaesthetist at the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough and honorary professor at the University of Durham in England. He also serves as a pain medicine consultant at the Hôpital de Morges VD in Switzerland. 

Dr. Eldabe serves as chair of the European Diploma of Pain Medicine, section editor of Pain Practice, and president of the International Association for the Study of Pain's Special Interest Group in neuromodulation. He is also the past chair of the British Pain Society's Science and Research Committee. Dr. Eldabe has authored more than 130 peer-reviewed manuscripts. His research interests include neuromodulation for pain and spasticity, deprescribing opioids and gabapentinoids, and health economics of pain interventions. 

Dr. Eldabe joins a prestigious editorial board of regional anesthesia and pain medicine experts, under the oversight of Editor-in-Chief Brian Sites, MD, and he will be critical in expanding the reach in chronic pain. RAPM is published monthly by BMJ.
