Physicians applying for a fellowship program in regional anesthesiology/acute pain medicine must be currently enrolled in, or have completed, an accredited anesthesiology residency program. Each individual program may have additional requirements such as medical licensing. The information published here has been supplied by the individual institutions. Outpatient Pain Fellowship, San Diego

Now accepting applications for this academic year. The fellow will be involved in a comprehensive curriculum of interventional, ultrasound-guided, regional nerve blocks, innovation, business management, operations, perioperative pain management, pain consultations, and clinical research.

Curriculum
The fellow will receive comprehensive hands-on training in pain management and business management and general pain practice  In addition to the hands-on training, the fellow will manage perioperative for consultations. The fellow will also participate in the multimodal pharmacologic management of perioperative pain including. Additionally, the fellow would have training in interventional pain procedures and pain consultations, and research. The fellow will be expected to give a presentation on a topic of his or her choosing consisting either of independent research on literature review. Research is an integral part of this fellowship and fellows will have one day/week for research endeavors. After completion of the fellowship, fellows will be ready to start their pain practice in the area of their choosing.

Experience:

* 3-5 years’ experience in developing detailed project plans that earned results in pain treatment and innovation 
* Skilled at building, leading, developing, and inspiring best-in-class creative medical projects and initiatives
* Excellent writing and editorial skills, with expertise at developing pain initiatives 
* Superior coordination skills; able to comprehend the actionable steps for team members including patients and stakeholders
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; organizational and time management skills
* Demonstrated analysis/assessment capabilities
* Strong written, verbal, and listening communication skills
